Free Motion Backgrounds and Animated Video Backgrounds
A motion background is an animated backdrop: drifting gradients, slow particles, abstract shapes, moving grids. It gives a title card, a podcast, a quote or a stream scene something alive behind it without pulling attention away from the subject.
Browse backgrounds from the Community, or describe the look you want. Clips run from 1 to 10 seconds, so pick one that loops cleanly and repeat it in your editor for as long as you need.

30Where motion backgrounds work
- Behind title cards, quotes and lyric text
- Podcast and interview clips with a talking head on top
- Stream scenes such as starting soon and be right back
- Presentation and explainer slides
- Vertical short-form posts
Making a background feel premium
Keep contrast low in the area behind text. Slow movement reads as expensive; fast movement competes with captions. Pick two colours that already exist in your brand and let the background use only those.
Layering with overlays
Put the background on the lowest track, your footage or text above it, and finish with transparent overlays like lower thirds or particles on top. A free account can download one Community asset per day with a watermark. Downloads paid for with tokens have no watermark.
