Create a Subscribe Button Animation in DaVinci Resolve
By Video Effect Vibe ·
A subscribe animation works best when it feels like part of your video: readable, brief and consistent with your channel. You can start with a Community design or create your own in Video Effect Vibe, then export a supported asset as an editable title for DaVinci Resolve 21+. Here is how to take it from design selection to a reusable overlay.
Choose a design for the footage it will sit over
Start with the subscribe-button collection and preview the full animation, including its exit. A compact button can suit a tutorial with a busy screen recording; a larger subscribe, like and bell sequence may work better during a pause in a talking-head video. Pick the design around the space available in your shot.
The YouTube Subscribe, Like & Bell Click Interaction asset is one example to inspect. Check its available customization and export options rather than assuming every Community design exposes the same fields. If the editable exporter rejects a particular component, choose a compatible alternative or use a rendered overlay.
Set your channel's text and colors before export
Add the design to your workspace and use the configuration controls it provides. Replace sample text with your channel name or a short call to action. Keep the wording short enough to remain readable while the button moves. Longer text is not automatically a better message, and it may change line wrapping or crowd nearby icons.
Choose a button color that separates it from the footage and a label color with enough contrast. If the animation contains a simulated mouse click, watch whether the cursor still points at the button after your changes. Check any like count, channel name or other displayed details for accuracy.
For a custom design, decide the wording, dimensions, colors and duration before generating. Video Effect Vibe creates short assets rather than complete edited videos. Review the resulting configuration and preview before buying the editable export; a property visible in the design is not necessarily exposed as an editable control.
Export and install the editable title
Choose DaVinci Template in the download menu, review the price and complete any license confirmation. Save the resulting .drfx package. The export preserves the supported component as an OGraf graphic; it does not ask an AI model to redraw your button as a Fusion composition.
Install the package in Resolve 21+, open Effects on the Edit page and find the title. Drag it onto a track above your video. The install guide explains the steps and what to check if the title is missing. If you download ProRes instead, you get a transparent rendered clip, but you cannot rewrite its baked-in label in the Inspector.
Place the animation where it supports the video
Choose a moment after the viewer has received something useful, such as the result of a tutorial step. Position the overlay away from faces, subtitles and important interface controls. Preview it at the size viewers will actually watch, especially if the final video is vertical.
Use the clip's standard transform controls for placement when needed. Avoid stretching a horizontal design to fill a vertical frame: preserve its proportions, or create a version with dimensions suited to the edit. The transparent background lets the footage show through without a green-screen key.
Play the complete entrance and exit in context. Trimming too early can leave a click unfinished or remove the exit. The exported graphic has its original duration, so do not assume extending the timeline clip will automatically redesign or stretch its animation.
Reuse the design for the next video
For another video, add a fresh instance of the installed title or duplicate the clip. Select that instance and change whichever text and color controls it exposes. For example, you might keep the same button style while replacing a channel label or switching to a campaign color.
Keep the package with your project assets for later installations. Before delivering a video, check that no sample wording remains and review a short final render. Reusable does not mean every design property is adjustable: use the app again when the change you need is outside the exported controls.
Subscribe animation questions
Will the button subscribe the viewer automatically? No. It is a visual call to action inside the video, not an interactive YouTube control.
Do I need a green screen? No. These overlays use transparency. Add them above your footage rather than applying a chroma key.
Can I use the animation in monetized videos? Review the Commercial Asset License for the export and any third-party rights in uploaded logos or images. Permission to use a graphic in a finished video is different from permission to resell the template itself.
