How to use this asset and frequently asked questions
Free to customize and download
This backgrounds asset is free to add to your workspace and free to edit — adjust its text, colors, timing and layout before you export. Free accounts include one free render per day with a watermark. Export ProRes 4444 for the widest professional editor compatibility, or WebM for OBS and web use. Transparent WebM can show glow or shadow artifacts in CapCut. No AI tokens are required for the daily Community render.
Use it as an editable DaVinci Resolve title
Export this asset as a .drfx template for DaVinci Resolve 21+ on macOS and Windows, instead of a rendered clip. These settings become controls in the Resolve Inspector, so you can change them for each video without rendering again:
- Sun Core Color
- Sun Corona Color
- Orbit Path Color
- Terrestrial Planets Color
- Gas Giants Color
- Ice Giants Color
- System Scale
- Isometric Tilt Angle
- Sun Diameter
- Orbit Stroke Width
- Dashed Orbit Lines
- Show Planetary Rings
- Show Radial Axis Ticks
- Show Sun Corona Glow
- Orbital Speed Multiplier
- Entrance Duration (Frames)
- Ambient Motion Enabled
Add the asset to your workspace and choose DaVinci on its card. The editable export is a one-time unlock of 15 tokens (5 for your own assets); downloading it again is free. If the asset can't be packaged as a Resolve title, the export stops before any tokens are charged.
How to use this asset+
This 1080x1080 transparent video asset is 3 seconds long and exports in WebM (with alpha channel) and ProRes 4444 formats.
Premiere Pro: Place the background on V1 as your base layer, below all other footage and overlays. Use Sequence Settings to match the background resolution.
DaVinci Resolve: Drop onto the lowest video track in the Edit page. Set the timeline resolution to match the background dimensions in Project Settings.
Final Cut Pro: Add the background to the bottom of your primary storyline or as a connected clip in the lowest lane. Use the Inspector to set scale to fill frame.
CapCut: Add as the bottom overlay layer or set as the canvas background. Use the scale handle to fill the full frame.
OBS Studio: Add as a Media Source in your scene and place it at the bottom of the source list so all other sources layer above it. Check Loop for seamless repeat. OBS supports WebM with alpha natively, so use the WebM export here — it keeps the file size far smaller than ProRes 4444 while preserving full transparency.
Tips
- Loop seamlessly by placing two identical clips back-to-back in your timeline — crossfade the transition point by 2–3 frames.
- Match the background energy to your content tempo. Fast, energetic backgrounds suit short-form; slow, ambient loops suit podcasts and tutorials.
- Use animated backgrounds for BRB and stream starting-soon scenes where looping motion adds professionalism to your stream.
Frequently asked questions+
Can I use these as stream backgrounds in OBS?
Yes. Add as a Media Source, check Loop, and place at the bottom of your scene source list. It runs continuously with no gaps.
How do I make a background loop seamlessly?
These backgrounds are designed for seamless looping. In OBS, check the Loop option in Media Source settings. In editors, duplicate and abut two copies, then crossfade 2 frames.
What resolution should backgrounds be for 1080p streams?
Use the 1920x1080 Full HD preset for standard streams. Custom dimensions are supported when width plus height totals no more than 4000 pixels.
Is this asset free to use?
Yes. You can add and customize community assets for free, then download one rendered WebM or ProRes 4444 clip per day with a watermark to use in your video projects. Exporting an asset as an editable DaVinci Resolve title is a separate paid unlock.
Can I customize this asset?
Use the live configuration above to preview changes, then sign up for a free account to add this asset to your workspace. From there you can edit colors, text, timing, and other properties before rendering.
What formats are available?
