Templates versus transparent clips
A template usually needs the software it was built in. A transparent clip is finished media: import it, place it, trim it. You trade deep per-layer editing for speed and compatibility, and the browser editor covers common changes like text, colours and timing.

Export ProRes 4444 for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro, and WebM with alpha for OBS and the web. Transparent WebM can show glow or shadow artifacts in CapCut, so preview it there first.
